  9. 09MindtickleLarge sales organisations with structured enablement and measurable training governance.
  10. 10SeismicCompanies that manage onboarding, training and sales content centrally.

Ten sales training platforms, ranked on 10 September 2026 by how well each one evidences its own claims: hosting region per data type, published certificate, model-training terms and access to the DPA. Sleak leads for DACH teams with EU-only hosting in Germany, a downloadable ISO 27001:2022 certificate and every sub-processor named.

How many first meetings did your newest sales rep practise before leading a real one? In most organisations, the honest answer is none. Modern sales training software closes that gap. In 2026, reps no longer need to practise only in a seminar room. They can speak with realistic AI buyers, get immediate feedback and track their progress. This turns one-off training into continuous practice for the entire team.

For companies in the DACH region, a second factor often determines the shortlist: where the data is actually processed. Many international vendors underestimate its importance. Training conversations may contain real customer names, deal details and information about individual employee performance. This comparison ranks the ten most relevant solutions as of 10 September 2026. For each vendor, we look not only at its claims about hosting, certifications and model training, but also at the evidence behind them. Is there a downloadable certificate, a public trust centre, a statement in an FAQ, or no published information at all? Most vendor comparisons overlook this distinction, even though it can make or break IT approval.

Sleak is an AI Coach from Munich that builds business-critical skills across every department, from sales and customer success through procurement and service to leadership, HR and onboarding. The platform works in two modes: in Coaching Mode (KNOW) the AI Coach transfers knowledge through dialogue, in Training Mode (DO) employees hold realistic voice conversations with virtual counterparts. Evaluation runs against a Scorecard, the standard the company defines itself, and every score cites specific moments from the transcript rather than handing out generic praise.

In sales, the most common entry point, reps practise cold calling, objection handling and negotiation as often as they want. For the knowledge side, teams upload their own documents into a Knowledge Repository, the central knowledge base the Coach can be queried against; 18 ready-made conversation type templates shorten the setup. With release v2.6 on 13 July 2026, real call recordings can also be uploaded: Sleak transcribes them and evaluates them against the same Scorecard as the training conversations, so practice and reality sit in one view. Conversations run in the browser or over the phone, in 35 languages and regional dialects, and the website and product changelog are available in German and English.

For managers, Sleak provides analytics on skill level and learning progress, by default without personally identifiable performance data: names can be anonymised separately for analysis and for the leaderboard, and team admins see only their own team, enforced server-side. Audio recordings are not stored by default, the transcript is the artefact, and recording is switchable through a dedicated compliance setting. Sleak is certified to ISO 27001:2022 and, unlike most vendors in this field, the certificate is out in the open: issued by Tempo Audits Ltd (UKAS 29621) on 18 June 2026, valid until 18 June 2029, with 89 of 93 Annex A controls implemented. Sleak offers EU-only hosting: processing takes place in the EU and EEA, the security page states data residency in Germany, and the Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement is published in full. According to the privacy policy, customer data is not used to train AI models, and all sub-processors are listed by name with contracting entity, processing location and transfer mechanism. Sleak conforms with the EU AI Act and is a fully European company: headquartered in Munich, with 100 per cent of its shares held in Europe. Pricing is tailored to the individual organization, and there is no public price list.

Disclosure: Sleak is our own product.

Strengths

  • Role plays natively in German and in 35 languages and regional dialects, adapted to your own company context and sales methodology
  • Feedback that cites specific moments from the transcript, scored against a Scorecard the company defines itself rather than a generic rubric
  • Skill building across departments: at FEGA & Schmitt, Sleak runs in sales, procurement, leadership and HR (900 employees, more than 100 teams, 4.83 out of 5)
  • Privacy by default: no personally identifiable performance data for managers, separate anonymisation for analysis and leaderboard, no audio recording without explicit sign-off
  • The ISO 27001:2022 certificate is out in the open, issued by Tempo Audits Ltd (UKAS 29621) and valid until 18 June 2029; the Art. 28 GDPR DPA is published in full and all nine sub-processors are named with their processing location
  • Documented impact in the DACH region: at SUXXEED, conversation quality up 14.5 % platform-wide and objection handling up more than 42.4 %; at Schwäbisch Hall, 72.5 % against 61.4 % on practical competence
  • A fully European company: headquartered in Munich, 100 % of shares held in Europe, EU-only hosting and conformity with the EU AI Act

Not ideal for

  • Teams looking primarily for a course library and content management: Sleak is not an LMS and does not replace one
  • Organisations that require a ready-made CRM, calendar or HRIS integration, because those connections are not available yet
  • Small teams with no recurring training need: for five experienced people running the same two conversation types, the effort of scorecards and personas does not pay for itself
Best for
Teams in the DACH region that want to scale conversation training across departments without compromising on data protection, instead of running it once a year in a seminar room.

Retorio is an established vendor from Munich, spun out in 2018 from behavioural research at the Technical University of Munich. Training happens in role plays that can be run as video or phone conversations, with real-time feedback and a persona generator that, per vendor, offers 93 avatars and 38 voices in 14 languages. A session generator builds training programmes from your own material. The focus is on standardised, scalable formats for large organisations, with references including Vodafone, Daimler Truck and Merck.

As a German company, Retorio addresses DACH requirements directly, but the statements remain self-declared. On hosting, Retorio names Google Cloud with EU data residency "on ISO-certified servers" in its FAQ and on its homepage; the privacy policy, dated June 2021, lists Google Cloud only as a content delivery network. Retorio claims an ISO 27001 certification on several pages, audited by TÜV and first certified in 2024 per its homepage, but publishes neither the certificate nor the scope or audit date, and operates no trust centre. On video analysis, the vendor states explicitly that it does not recognise emotions but only registers visible facial expressions, invoking the corresponding exemption in the EU AI Act. If non-verbal video analysis will not clear your works council, settle that early.

Strengths

  • Role plays as video or phone conversations with real-time feedback, plus programme generation from your own material
  • Standardised, scalable formats with documented enterprise references including Vodafone, Daimler Truck and Merck
  • German vendor with a persona generator offering, per vendor, 93 avatars and 38 voices across 14 languages

Not ideal for

  • Organisations that need evidence rather than self-declaration: Retorio claims ISO 27001 on several pages (audited by TÜV, per its homepage) but publishes neither the certificate nor the scope or audit date, and runs no trust centre
  • Teams where non-verbal video analysis is hard to clear with a works council
Best for
Enterprise teams that want to standardise role plays and also assess non-verbal impact.

Jam (wejam.ai, Jam Technologies GmbH) is a platform from Munich founded in 2024. Reps practise in voice role plays with AI buyer personas modelled on real customers, products and scenarios, and receive personalised feedback with concrete assignments after every session; progress and team trends land in manager dashboards. On top of that, Jam scores real calls automatically against your own scorecards and routes a detected weakness back into training as a practice assignment: today's call becomes next week's exercise. Per vendor, the platform supports more than 20 languages including German, and it names Uber, GetYourGuide, McMakler, Provinzial and CarOnSale as customers.

On security, Jam cites EU data residency, GDPR compliance, SSO, role-based access and a CyberVadis Silver rating with a score of 831, the only externally awarded assessment among the DACH vendors here. The privacy policy does qualify the EU residency, though: processing takes place principally in Germany and the rest of the EEA, with third-country transfers to the US covered by standard contractual clauses. A public trust centre lists the DPA, sub-processors and audit rights, but the documents themselves are available on request only. No ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification is listed there. Employee certification is not a separate module: Jam markets five capabilities, namely Talent Assessments, Coaching, Call Scoring, Jam Studio and Deal Assistant, with Platform Intelligence as the connecting layer above them. With around ten employees by its own account, Jam is the youngest and smallest vendor in this comparison.

Strengths

  • Real calls are scored automatically and the weakness it finds becomes the next practice assignment
  • More than 20 languages including German, with manager dashboards for progress and skill gaps
  • German vendor with a public trust centre and a CyberVadis Silver rating (score 831), the only externally awarded assessment among the DACH vendors here

Not ideal for

  • Organisations that require an ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification from the vendor
  • Teams that need to read the DPA and sub-processor list without asking, for a quick pre-check
  • Procurement with vendor-size requirements: by its own account Jam has around ten employees, making it the youngest and smallest vendor in this comparison
Best for
Teams that want training tied closely to real conversations while working multilingually.

Setero (Setero Technologies GmbH, Berlin) is a German AI training platform for sales, service and leadership teams as well as product knowledge, combining role plays, coaching and structured feedback. Per vendor, training modules are generated from your own material, playbooks and training scripts, either through chat or automatically from connected systems; teams then practise realistic conversations as voice or video simulations and receive feedback after each session, complemented by reports at team and individual level with explicit protection of individual performance.

On privacy, Setero cites GDPR compliance, alignment with the EU AI Act and, as its server location, "hosting in Frankfurt, inference in the EU". The evidence lags behind that: there is a security section on the homepage, but no trust centre with retrievable documents. Since its website relaunch in August 2026, Setero advertises an ISO 27001 certification, but publishes neither the certificate nor the certification body, scope or audit date. The DPA, the technical and organisational measures and the sub-processor list are available on request only, according to the FAQ. For an IT sign-off in the German Mittelstand that is often enough; for an enterprise security questionnaire you will have to obtain the details from the vendor directly.

Strengths

  • Training modules are generated, per vendor, from your own material, playbooks and training scripts, through chat or automatically from connected systems
  • German vendor with a German-language interface and German-language support
  • Voice and video simulations with reports at team and individual level, with explicit protection of individual performance

Not ideal for

  • Organisations running an enterprise security questionnaire: since its August 2026 relaunch Setero advertises ISO 27001 but publishes neither the certificate nor the certification body, scope or audit date, and the DPA, technical measures and sub-processor list are available on request only
  • Large enterprises needing deep integrations and a broad enablement ecosystem
Best for
SMB and mid-market teams that want to start quickly with a German solution and can request the security details from the vendor directly.

Pricing
Not public

Second Nature (Second Nature AI Inc., offices in Tel Aviv and New York) relies on real-time AI role plays combined with scoring and structured coaching, now also with video avatars for cold call, discovery and objection handling. On languages the vendor contradicts itself: the FAQ says more than 25 languages including German, the homepage says over 30, and the funding press release says more than 20. There are methodology templates for MEDDPICC, SPIN and BANT, plus more than one million completed role plays. In October 2025 the vendor closed a 22 million US dollar Series B.

On privacy, the detail matters: per vendor, customer data sits in a Google Cloud data centre in the Netherlands, which makes Second Nature the only US-based vendor in this comparison hosting in the EU by default. SOC 2, GDPR and CCPA are named, ISO 27001 is not, and there is no dedicated security or trust centre page. The language models run on Azure infrastructure with no publicly stated region, so the EU chain breaks at that point. The FAQ commits to never using customer data for AI model training, while the terms and conditions explicitly permit the use of anonymised, aggregated data for research and development. Second Nature provides a DPA on request only. For DACH rollouts that means: check the DPA, sub-processors and processing locations per data type in detail up front.

Strengths

  • Real-time AI role plays with structured scoring and coaching, now also with video avatars
  • Methodology templates for MEDDPICC, SPIN and BANT, and more than one million completed role plays
  • The only vendor based outside the EU that hosts in the EU by default here: per vendor, customer data sits in a Google Cloud data centre in the Netherlands

Not ideal for

  • Organisations that require a documented processing region per data type: the language models run on Azure with no publicly stated region, which is where the EU chain breaks
  • Teams that need a reliable language count: the FAQ, the homepage and the funding release say more than 25, more than 30 and more than 20 languages
  • Buyers who must rule out model training entirely: the FAQ commits to that, but the terms and conditions explicitly permit anonymised, aggregated data for research and development
Best for
Companies scaling digital role plays internationally against one consistent standard.

Pricing
Per user, separate licences for Practice and Perform, per vendor · no public prices

Hyperbound (contracting entity IntelligentSystems Corp. in Cupertino, California) offers real-time AI sales simulations, from cold call through discovery to objection handling, complemented by AI scorecards, onboarding and certification modules, and manager analytics for reviewing real conversations. Per vendor, the platform supports more than 25 languages, the FAQ names 24 of them including German, and it is used by teams in more than 40 countries.

Hyperbound runs the most detailed trust centre in this field, listing SOC 2 Type 1 and 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, HIPAA and GDPR compliance. Which is exactly why its hosting statement is so unambiguous: "All Hyperbound servers are located within the United States of America." The pricing page lists EU data residency as an add-on for both enterprise tiers, Practice and Perform, with no price shown, and a separate EU sub-processor list is available on request only. Hyperbound bases data transfers on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. The public sub-processor list holds 26 entries, 24 with the USA as processing location and two without a stated location; the AI-adjacent providers named are VAPI, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Tavus and Tavily, plus AWS and Microsoft Azure as cloud providers. Per vendor, pricing is per user, with separate licences for Practice and Perform. For DACH rollouts, that is where the review starts, not where it ends.

Strengths

  • Real-time simulations for cold call, discovery and objection handling with AI scorecards
  • The most detailed trust centre in this field: SOC 2 Type 1 and 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, HIPAA and GDPR compliance, with a public sub-processor list
  • More than 25 languages per vendor, 24 of them named in the FAQ including German, in use by teams in more than 40 countries

Not ideal for

  • Teams that need EU data residency without a surcharge: the vendor states "All Hyperbound servers are located within the United States of America", the EU region is an add-on to both enterprise tiers, and 24 of the 26 listed sub-processors process in the USA while two name no location
  • Companies that need broad enablement and content management beyond call training
Best for
Teams using AI role plays specifically for calls and objection handling.

Languages

Pricing
Not public

Quantified (Quantified Communications, Inc., Austin, Texas) trains conversations against AI-driven buyer personas and, per vendor, scores every interaction across more than 1,400 behavioural dimensions. The focus is on enterprise customers in regulated industries, particularly life sciences and financial services, with references including Novartis, Bayer (more than 5,000 reps coached, per vendor) and Sanofi.

Hosting runs on AWS, in the United States by default; regional options are available on request, per vendor. Quantified states it has completed a SOC 2 Type II audit but names no completion date, and its trust centre is not publicly accessible. It nowhere claims an ISO 27001 certification. On model training, Quantified phrases things narrowly: customer data is never used to train public models, which says nothing about private, fine-tuned ones. German is not explicitly named in the published language claims (more than 40 languages), and no named language list is published. For DACH deployment: verify hosting, DPA and language coverage up front.

Strengths

  • Training against realistic AI buyer personas with very detailed scoring (more than 1,400 behavioural dimensions, per vendor)
  • Strong in regulated industries, with references including Novartis, Bayer and Sanofi
  • Regional hosting options on request, and a completed SOC 2 Type II audit per vendor

Not ideal for

  • DACH buyers with strict EU data residency requirements, because US hosting is the default and the trust centre is not publicly accessible
  • Organisations that must rule out model training entirely: Quantified excludes training public models only and says nothing about private, fine-tuned ones
  • Teams that need documented native German conversations: German is not explicitly named in the published language claims
Best for
Enterprise teams in regulated industries that assess and certify sales conversations systematically.

USA, several Google Cloud regions; no EU residency

Hosting region
United States, across several Google Cloud regions, per vendor · no EU data residency option publicly documented
Vendor domicile
Yoodli, Inc., Seattle, USA
ISO 27001 evidence
None · SOC 2 Type 2
Model training
Contradictory across three documents — the business page and trust centre exclude organisation data, the pricing page makes exclusion a feature from the Advanced tier up, and the terms of service grant a perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable licence explicitly including "to train models" · no publicly documented DPA
Languages
More than 40 claimed; the help centre named 29 variants, so 24 distinct languages, as of June 2026 · German role plays with German feedback documented
Pricing
Advanced tier from 20 US dollars per month, billed annually, per the pricing page

Yoodli (Yoodli, Inc., Seattle) comes from AI speech coaching and is increasingly positioning itself for sales and GTM enablement: real-time role plays with your own personas, scenarios and scoring rubrics, plus detailed feedback on language, clarity and pace. German-language role plays including German-language feedback are documented; the marketing claim is more than 40 languages, while the help centre, as of June 2026, names 29 language variants and therefore 24 distinct languages. Korn Ferry provides users of Korn Ferry Advance with a bespoke version of Yoodli, and Sandler offers role plays on its own selling system as the "Sandler AI Roleplay Coach powered by Yoodli". In December 2025 Yoodli closed a 40 million US dollar Series B.

Yoodli is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and holds no ISO 27001. On model training, three documents are worth reading side by side: the business page and the trust centre commit to excluding organisation data from AI training, the pricing page lists "Data is excluded from AI training" as a feature from the Advanced tier upwards (20 US dollars per month billed annually), and the terms of service grant Yoodli a perpetual, irrevocable and sublicensable licence to submitted content, explicitly including "to train models". If you want certainty here, contractually establish that the service agreement or DPA takes precedence. A DPA is not publicly documented and does not appear in the resource list of the otherwise freely viewable trust centre. Per vendor, the platform runs in the United States across multiple Google Cloud regions, and no EU data residency option is publicly documented.

Strengths

  • Strong feedback on language, clarity and pace, with a low barrier to entry
  • German-language role plays including German-language feedback are documented
  • SOC 2 Type 2 certified, with a freely viewable trust centre

Not ideal for

  • Teams that must exclude model training contractually: the business page and trust centre commit to the exclusion, the pricing page lists it as a feature only from the Advanced tier, and the terms of service grant a perpetual, irrevocable licence to submitted content, explicitly including "to train models"
  • Organisations that require EU hosting and a documented DPA, because neither is publicly documented
  • Complex enterprise scenarios needing deep CRM integration and structured enablement
Best for
Teams that want a low-friction way to practise pitches, conversation flow and delivery.

Mindtickle (MindTickle, Inc., San Francisco, with a development and support entity in Pune, India) combines sales training, coaching, conversation intelligence and readiness measurement in a revenue enablement suite; AI role plays are one module among many. With ElevateOS, introduced on 21 April 2026, Mindtickle positions itself as an agentic operating system for revenue enablement, built on four pillars; the Coach area holds AI Tutor, AI Roleplays, AI Simulator and AI Rep Brief. Its strength lies in structured enablement and measurable training governance for large organisations.

On compliance, Mindtickle is the most broadly certified offering in this comparison: ISO 27001:2022, ISO 42001:2023, ISO 27701:2019, ISO 22301:2019, ISO 27017:2015, ISO 27018:2019, SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, CSA STAR Level 1 and HIPAA, plus a certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Learning content and call recordings can be hosted in Ireland, Singapore or Northern Virginia. Important for DACH teams: user profile and progression data sits in Singapore regardless, according to the vendor, and customer data is accessed from India and the United States for administration, customer success and support. That is precisely where an EU hosting option and EU data residency turn out not to be the same thing. Teams looking primarily for active conversation practice often pair Mindtickle with a specialised solution.

Strengths

  • The most broadly certified offering in this comparison: ISO 27001:2022, ISO 42001:2023, ISO 27701:2019, ISO 22301:2019, ISO 27017:2015, ISO 27018:2019, SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, CSA STAR Level 1 and HIPAA, plus a certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework
  • Comprehensive enablement including readiness measurement and conversation intelligence, as ElevateOS since April 2026
  • Learning content and call recordings can be hosted in Ireland, Singapore or Northern Virginia

Not ideal for

  • Strict EU-only requirements: per vendor, user profile and progression data sits in Singapore regardless of the hosting choice, and customer data is accessed from India and the USA
  • Teams looking primarily for active conversation practice rather than a broad enablement suite
Best for
Large sales organisations with structured enablement and measurable training governance.

Seismic (Seismic Software, Inc., San Diego, with a German entity in Düsseldorf) combines learning, content management and sales enablement in a single platform. The Role-Play Agent launched in June 2025 adds AI-driven role plays with feedback and manager insights, and belongs to the Aura agent family, a brand name in use since October 2023 and expanded into an agent family in October 2025. On 18 August 2026 Seismic completed its merger with Highspot, continuing under the Seismic brand with Rob Tarkoff as CEO. For buyers that means two previously competing enablement platforms, each with its own AI role plays, are merging, and the roadmap is currently the largest open question.

Seismic is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 42001:2023 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019, plus SOC 2 Type 2, and is registered under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. On data residency the picture splits in two: Seismic operates regional tenant environments and its public egress IP list documents a German, a Swiss and a British region, among others. None of that is contractually assured, however, because the data processing agreement dated 28 February 2026 names no hosting regions, and Seismic releases the sub-processor list with the processing locations on customer request only. If you want the German region, have it written into the order form or a data residency addendum. For pure AI conversation training Seismic is less specialised; its strength is the breadth of the enablement and content ecosystem.

Strengths

  • Strong content management and a broad integration ecosystem
  • One platform for onboarding, training and sales content
  • Extensive certifications: ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, ISO/IEC 27701:2019 and SOC 2 Type 2, plus registration under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework

Not ideal for

  • DACH buyers who need a contractually assured data region: the public egress IP list documents a German region, but the DPA dated 28 February 2026 names no hosting regions and the sub-processor list is released on request only
  • Teams whose main goal is AI conversation training, because the Role-Play Agent is a young additional module
  • Buyers who need roadmap certainty: since the merger with Highspot on 18 August 2026, two previously competing enablement platforms are consolidating their AI role plays
Best for
Companies that manage onboarding, training and sales content centrally.

How to choose sales training software

What modern sales training software has to deliver today

Good sales training software does not replace seminars. It turns one-off learning into continuous practice. Reps can rehearse realistic conversations, receive immediate, specific feedback and follow their progress over time. Managers, meanwhile, gain reliable insight into skill levels and learning needs instead of seeing little more than attendance figures. We explore why traditional approaches break down as teams grow in scaling sales training.

The most effective tools therefore rely on AI role plays as Training Mode: instead of consuming theory, reps talk to virtual counterparts tailored to their own market and products, as often as they like and with no real risk. Three components make a good AI role play. First, a counterpart that behaves like a real buyer and does not give in. Second, an evaluation standard defined in advance. Third, feedback that backs its assessment with moments from the conversation. Without the third component, it is a chatbot conversation with no learning effect. For a comprehensive overview of methods, formats and vendors, see our complete guide to sales training.

Without a defined evaluation standard, an exercise has little lasting value.

Privacy and EU hosting: the decisive factor for DACH teams

An EU data centre alone is not enough, and that is the insight missing from most vendor comparisons. Some international vendors host in the EU but, as US companies, remain subject to the US CLOUD Act. With others, part of the data sits outside the EU even though an EU option exists: Mindtickle hosts learning content in Ireland on request, but user profile and progression data in Singapore, per vendor. With others again, EU hosting is an add-on to the enterprise tiers while the trust centre simultaneously states that all servers are in the United States, as is the case at Hyperbound. And with some, the hosting region is not published at all, neither on the website nor in a trust centre.

So check five points, and demand the source for each: hosting region per data type, vendor domicile, certifications such as ISO 27001 including the standard version, the Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement including the sub-processor list, and whether your data is used to train AI models. Pay attention to how hard the source is: a downloadable certificate outweighs a trust centre, a trust centre outweighs an FAQ self-declaration, and a missing statement is not a commitment. Also check whether different documents from the same vendor contradict each other, because that is exactly where the expensive surprises come from: at Yoodli the business page says something different from the terms of service, at Second Nature the FAQ says something different from the terms and conditions. Vendors with a published certification, data residency in Germany and openly listed sub-processors shorten this review substantially; how we document that at Sleak is set out in our overview of security and data residency. How anonymised practice sessions work is shown in GDPR-compliant AI sales training; what German companies need to watch for when selecting a platform is summarised in GDPR-compliant AI coaching.

The criteria that decide the selection

Six factors determine whether a tool is still being used after three months or becomes another untouched licence. Sales organisations can also consult our use case page for sales, which shows the scenarios in which realism can actually be assessed.

  1. Realism of the role plays and adaptability to your own market, your own products and your own methodology
  2. Quality of the feedback, ideally along a transparent scorecard and with cited moments from the conversation
  3. Meaningfulness of the analytics for managers, without creating a sense of surveillance in the team
  4. Language support: native German-language conversations including German-language feedback, evidenced by a named language list rather than a language count in the marketing
  5. Privacy including hosting region per data type, vendor domicile, certification with standard version, and model training
  6. Ease of adoption: how quickly you can create and roll out your own scenarios without managers intervening constantly

A frequently underestimated criterion is who maintains the content. At SUXXEED, the persona library has grown from around 70 to more than 500 AI buyers, created by team leads themselves, with no development team and no central administration.

Four steps to the right solution

Four steps lead to the right solution. Privacy belongs in the second step, not at the end of the process.

  1. Sharpen the use case: is this about onboarding, continuous practice, certification or talent identification?
  2. Clarify privacy requirements: which hosting region per data type, which vendor domicile, which certifications and which contracts do you need internally, and who signs off?
  3. Test with real scenarios: a pilot with your own products and typical objections tells you more than any demo.
  4. Measure adoption and impact: do reps use the tool voluntarily, and do the conversations measurably improve?

That is exactly how it went at Würth: first a pilot with around 80 participants, then access for more than 5,000 employees across sales and leadership, at a participant rating of 4.76 out of 5.

Common mistakes in tool selection

Four mistakes occur repeatedly. Teams choose a tool by its feature list rather than the actual use case. They review privacy only at the end, when it can block the rollout. They test in English instead of native German. And they underestimate adoption within the team. No matter how extensive a tool is, it will have no impact if nobody wants to use it.

Privacy also affects adoption. Reps are much more willing to make mistakes during training when managers see individual performance only in anonymised form and audio recordings are not stored by default. This is not a minor consideration. It can be the difference between buying a licence and building a genuine training habit.

How we assessed the tools

Our assessment is based on publicly available vendor information, checked on 10 September 2026: websites, trust centres, compliance and attestation documents, data processing agreements, terms of service, company registration details and press releases. On top of that come the feature scope in AI role play and feedback, suitability for the DACH market, and the handling of privacy, certifications and hosting. Statements that come solely from the vendor are marked "per vendor", and undocumented points are named as such. Where two documents from the same vendor contradict each other, we cite both. Where a statement is missing, we say so and do not read it as a no. We quote prices only where they are public, which in this field is the exception.

Because products and terms change quickly, we recommend verifying vendor-specific claims about hosting, certifications and sub-processors directly before a decision, and asking for the source each time.

Frequently asked questions about sales training software

How do you tell whether sales training software really fits your team?

A tool fits when it covers your specific use case, such as onboarding, continuous practice or certification, and when reps use it voluntarily. Test with real scenarios from your sales day: your own products, typical objections, actual conversation situations. What matters is the realism of the role plays, how specific the feedback is, and whether managers can derive from the data what the team should work on next. A four to six week pilot with one team shows this more reliably than any feature matrix.

Which features matter most in sales training software?

Four things at the core: realistic, customisable AI role plays; immediate feedback along a transparent scorecard that backs its assessment with cited moments from the conversation; analytics on skill level and learning progress that work without personally identifiable performance data; and native German-language conversations including German-language feedback. Add to that GDPR-compliant hosting and a certification such as ISO 27001 with the standard version named and the certificate available for inspection. Beyond that, it matters how quickly you can create and roll out your own scenarios without managers having to intervene manually all the time.

Why do EU hosting and GDPR compliance matter so much for DACH companies?

Training conversations contain personal data and competitively sensitive information, which makes them a matter for data protection officers and works councils. Vendors based in the EU, with data residency in Germany and a published ISO 27001 certification, simplify the data processing agreement and speed up internal sign-off. The distinction by data type is what counts: an EU data centre is not sufficient, because US vendors remain subject to the US CLOUD Act even with EU hosting, and on some platforms partial data such as user profiles sits outside the EU although an EU option is advertised. So check hosting region per data type, vendor domicile, certifications, DPA and sub-processors before sensitive data is processed.

When is an AI role play more useful than a classic seminar?

Whenever the point is repeatable practice rather than one-off knowledge transfer. A seminar teaches the fundamentals, an AI role play lets reps practise the application as often as they want, with no real risk and with immediate feedback. Especially in cold calling, objection handling and negotiation, regular practice beats one-off training. One framing many vendors leave out is important here: the role play is a tool inside a training programme, not a replacement for a well-designed development programme. The ideal is the combination, seminar for the fundamentals, AI role play for continuous reinforcement.

Which departments and roles are the tools best suited to?

AI role plays suit practically every conversation-heavy role: in sales, SDRs and BDRs for cold calling and qualification, account executives for discovery and negotiation; in customer success for renewals and expansion; in procurement for supplier negotiations; in service and support for difficult conversations; and in leadership for feedback and development conversations. Most vendors in this comparison focus on sales, while Sleak as a cross-departmental AI Coach builds skills outside sales too. At FEGA & Schmitt, Sleak runs in sales, procurement, leadership and HR, with more than 900 employees across over 100 teams and a rating of 4.83 out of 5.

When is Sleak not the right choice?

If you are looking for a course library and content management, Sleak is the wrong tool: Sleak is not an LMS and does not replace one, it puts the practice layer on top of it. If your selection process requires a ready-made CRM, calendar or HRIS integration, that is still missing today. And if your team has no recurring training need, because it consists of five experienced people running the same two conversation types, the effort for scorecards and personas does not justify the rollout. Sleak pays off where people join regularly or conversations change.

How does Sleak differ from international platforms?

Sleak is a fully European company headquartered in Munich with 100 per cent of its shares held in Europe, certified to ISO 27001:2022, with EU-only hosting, data residency in Germany, a publicly available Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement, conformity with the EU AI Act and no use of customer data for training AI models. All sub-processors are publicly listed by name, with contracting entity, processing location and transfer mechanism. On substance, Sleak combines native German-language role plays with scorecard-based feedback and anonymised manager analytics, and does so across departments rather than only in sales. While many international platforms lean heavily on enablement and content, Sleak's focus is active conversation practice inside your own company context.

How quickly can Sleak be rolled out to a team?

Sleak is built for a fast start: virtual counterparts, scorecards and feedback methodology are adapted to your own company context, 18 ready-made conversation type templates shorten the setup, and your own documents can be uploaded as a knowledge base. Reps then practise independently and receive feedback automatically, while managers track progress through anonymised analytics. In practice, Würth started with a pilot of around 80 participants and then extended access to more than 5,000 employees. The best start is a clearly defined use case, real scenarios and a team that feels the need itself.

Conclusion: which sales training software to choose

Anyone looking to scale sales training effectively in 2026 will find it hard to ignore AI role plays. They turn one-off learning into continuous practice and make progress measurable. For companies in the DACH region, privacy is another decisive factor, and the review needs to go beyond data location. Vendor domicile, certification with the relevant standard version, DPA, sub-processors and model training all belong on the checklist, together with the source for each claim. Seen this way, the field is divided less by features than by how well vendors can support their claims.

Sleak satisfies both sides: realistic, native German-language role plays with scorecard-based feedback and cited moments from the transcript, anonymised manager analytics, usable across departments, certified to ISO 27001:2022 with the certificate publicly available, with EU-only hosting and data residency in Germany, an Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement published in full, conformity with the EU AI Act, and a Munich headquarters wholly owned in Europe. The impact in the DACH region is documented: at SUXXEED, average conversation quality up 14.5 per cent across the platform and objection handling up more than 42.4 per cent; at Schwäbisch Hall, 72.5 against 61.4 per cent applied competence. That makes Sleak our recommendation for DACH teams looking to introduce practical conversation training in a privacy-compliant way.
